What is Appam?
Appam is one of the famous dishes of South India made with rice batter and also coconut milk. Appam is a delicious and boiled food you can serve it in breakfast, lunch as well as dinner. You can make it veg and non-veg also if you like sweet appam then add sugar or jaggery.
Different types of appam?
Plain Appam, Egg appam, coconut appam. These three types are commonly made there.
Is appam good for health?
South Indian Appam is very healthy because it is not deep fry. Appam is boiled food it is good for your health and it may lose your weight.
Let us see the ingredients of Making Appam and chutney- 2 tablespoon peanut, 3 garlic cloves, 2 tablespoon chickpeas, 4 green chillies, salt as per requirement, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup curd, 100-gram semolina.
First, let us make south Indian appam chutney, take roasted peanut, and roasted chickpeas, chilli, garlic, lemon juice and salt as per requirement. Now put all this into mixture grander and put some water then grind them into a paste. Then transfer into the bowl and our chutney is ready. Now, let’s make appam.
Now heat a pan then heat oil for tadka, add 1 tablespoon oil, 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds, 5-6 curry leaves. Then fry them and crackles then pour them into chutney. Then take mixer grander and add semolina, sugar, salt, curd, water than past and make proper batter them well. Now add fruit salt then mix them well. Then heat a pan and pour the batter into pan. Cook for 6 minutes does not flip it cook properly from all side.
